I asked the couple to hold each other and go in close for a kiss. Since their faces are blocked by the pillow covers, what’s left is just their actions and having them hold each other, passionately, it fills in the gap that is missing from the emotions on their faces. Actually getting them to do this was simple and I just asked them to hold each other really meaningfully and go in for a kiss.
Hold each other really meaningfully, use all your emotions and kiss very slowly.
Calm
I chose to photograph this on a white background as it complimented the white pillows and isolated the couple. This simplicity and minimalism then brings the viewer to explore what the couple are doing and to give emphasis on the way they hold each other, and how they are going in for that kiss.

Working with a tilt-shift lens can be challenging and it only gets easier with practice. Being a manual lens, there is no autofocus. Through experience and trial and error, I managed to get the focus exactly where I wanted it while also creating a blur in the spots that I didn’t want attention to go to.

The way the EXIF is written out follows the common photographic method (with the inclusion of White Balance at the end). Here it is broken down:
Shutter Speed @ Aperture ISO White Balance.
Being indoors and having a window to the side, I positioned the couple in a spot where the light was going to light them up from the one side which naturally creates shadows on the other side. Since the room was bright and white, the light did bounce around and fill in strong shadows which worked to my advantage in isolating the couple. It was raining outside which meant the light coming in through the window was already softened by the clouds.

Editing this image was very simple as all I did was make some small color & light adjustments and that was is.
biggest challenge was adjusting the tilt shift, as it is manual it requires a little more patience and perserverance.
Being calm in the directions, and taking the time needed to find the right focus with tilt-shift lenses. It’s a practice-makes-perfect thing.
