the image was initially taken as a central crop and then cropped to thirds in post. My subjects cross both the lower third and the right hand third lines.

It is sometimes hard to focus during this time of day, especially when shooting with a diffusion filter, however because it was early on in golden hour it allowed a sharper image than later on in the shoot would have.

The way the EXIF is written out follows the common photographic method (with the inclusion of White Balance at the end). Here it is broken down:
Shutter Speed @ Aperture ISO White Balance.
I adore shooting directly into the sun but wanted that softer light and beautiful sunset, so golden hour was the obvious choice for time of day/lighting. I backlit my subjects for added interest and for an added softness/cinematic feel.

I cropped the image, applied the preset and profile, corrected the white balance (which warmed the image up correctly for that lovely sunset) to auto and added a gradient brush of light coming from where the sun is located on the right of the sky which gave some fill light and a lovely gradient across the whole image.
Because it wasn’t technically part of the shoot, just a quick, cute moment caught the sky was brighter than I would usually have liked.
To let go of the need for perfection!

Watch your clients for the little in-between moments of a shoot. There are so often little gems of interactions that occur that are so easily missed so keep your camera ready for them!
