What inspired you for this shoot

What caught the most attention on that day was the light in that place. It was easy to fit the couple into this perfect texture that the light projected on the wall, but I also wanted to show a little bit of how they are connected but at the same time each one has their own individuality.

Directions

Describe how you spoke to your subject(s)

I just asked them to turn their faces towards the light and cover their eyes but feel their connection through their hands.

What did you say?

Put your hands over your eyes and just relax, feel that light that surrounds you.

Composition

The composition is simple but very focused on showing the couple “embraced” by this light that entered the window and formed this texture on the wall. About the couple’s pose, I looked for symmetry between the two in their movements and connection so that I could obtain a balanced photo.

Focusing

Describe how you spoke to your subject(s)

I just focused on the bride’s hands because there was a point of light there and it would be better to get a perfect focus.

Light & Weather

This light came in from a bricked window, so it formed a totally different texture. It was close to afternoon light, so it was still pretty intense. It’s always tricky to work with harsh light, but it’s always an incredible challenge.

Editing Workflow

How did you edit this image?

I really wanted to reinforce the idea that this light painted the couple, as if they were part of this texture, so I used some radial filters and brushes in lightroom to darken the edges and bring more light to the couple as well.
