Nina & Darek

Nina & Darek Active since 2017
We had been walking past each other for a year, without really paying attention… It took a choir competition and a trip to the magnificent Riva del Garda where one gorgeous evening we went for a stroll in united mission to find somewhere to eat. That was the moment that changed everything in us and around us – we fell in love. It was 2013 and we have been walking together since. Today, we live a life filled with classical music, pleasures of great comfort food that we shamelessly enjoy from time to time and a good movie on a Friday night. We cannot imagine our home without cats.

What is a fun fact about you?
We are making dad jokes and puns like our life depended on it and we watched Friends a gazzilion times. We love Edinbrough and Harry Potter.
How did you land your first wedding?
Nina knew squat about weddings. She took her Canon 40D and 50mm 1.8 and that one wedding brought her a 8 other weddings. Our first wedding together was 6 days after Nina’s appendix surgery, I was running with my Pentax K100D. Trying to act cool even though I was so nervous!
Who or what inspires you?
Cinema – obviously, but also everything that inspires movie makers. Paints, sculptures, architecture. Our favorite photographers of all time is Peter Lindbergh for Darek and Diane Arbus, Sally Mann for Nina. When it comes to cinematography – Gordon Willis!
What were you doing before you became a photographer?
We started early so we were studying music, making music and also we were singing in a choir. That’s how we met. We supposed to become a music teachers. We would never expect that photography will be such a huge part of our lives.
What’s your favourite thing about being a wedding photographer?
Making new friendships and travelling to new places. It’s a cliche, but it’s the essence of being a photographers to us.
